Data Object Management

The Data Catalog gives users the ability to manage data, as well as classify and manage the massive and diverse data assets of the enterprise, to realize more efficient data use.

The data in the Data Catalog service is divided into two types: metadata and master data.

-Metadata, also known as intermediary data and relay data, is data describing data (data about data), and includes business metadata, operational metadata, and technical metadata. By describing the environment, attributes, and other information of the data, the data can be better understood, searched, and utilized.

-Master data (Master Data) is basic data with a shared nature related to business entities that can be reused across various business departments within the enterprise in a relatively stable state, and is characterized by being high-value and highly shared.

Metadata is like a library’s book index catalog, through which we can learn basic information about the book, such as title, author, publication date, and so on. Metadata helps us understand and manage master data. Master data is like a book in a library that holds a lot of information. Master data is used to define business objects and has practical significance.
