Quality Rules

In the process of data collection, transmission, calculation, and storage, various problems can often occur. The EnOS Edge provides rule services to determine data quality in order to help users identify possible data problems, allowing them to flexibly configure data quality-related rules to diagnose all kinds of data quality problems faced in real-time monitoring scenarios.

Application

The quality rule service is mainly used in real-time monitoring scenarios to help diagnose various data quality problems:

  • Determine whether the DI measurement points are available using the raw data quality bit information.
  • Diagnose real-time data problems to provide the analytical basis for monitoring and visual charting tools.

Features

The Quality Rules Service of EnOS Edge offers the following functions:

  • Define the standard quality bit for platform data
  • Extract the raw quality bit information contained in the data source(IEC104, OPC, 61850)
  • Diagnose real-time data quality problems (advance timestamp, delayed timestamp, out-of-limits, stale data issues, etc.)

Key Concepts

The Quality Standards of EnOS Edge

The quality standards of EnOS Edge draw on the IEC61850 standard in the OT field, taking into account the generic service requirements of the IoT edge platforms, and forming the Edge quality standards consisting of three parts: validity, quality details and quality standard sources, as follows:

  • Validity: Verifies the available data, with user-customized mapping policies in each model.
  • Quality details: Identifies specific problems occurring with the data (advance timestamp, delayed timestamp, out-of-limits, stale data) to assist users in making decisions.

Raw Quality Standards

The EnOS Edge supports the extraction and storage of raw quality bits for a small number of protocols with built-in quality bits.

Note

The quality standards extracted from the data source and those calculated by EnOS Edge itself are stored independently.
